flat down to 30hz???
imo the best thing to do would be to use the vague plans available, and the age old horn responce doo dah, select an apropriate driver and "invent" the missing dimensions, ie redisign so it fits your aplication,
but to be honest all ive done is reworded your last sentence.......
you may just end up with a realy good cab though.... and its not technicaly a copy, youve just taken alot of inspiration and done a bit of work yourself......

Well, we now actually have all info required to fabricate an AB36. Have read many places 1850 loaded original AB36 will demolish 2x genuine AB36 no problem. So after I have a cloned AB36 with suitable driver (1850 expensive and hard to get hold of), I'll take it from there. For me the hardest part is translating hornresp figures to drawing's, not using hornresp or identifying good drivers. Have spent too much time recently doing exactly this. |

actually I was planning to load this with SD18 p.audio but i think I will have problems fitting it inside since SD18's are deeper and larger in magnet size... Edited by heinrich - 03 May 2007 at 2:00am |

Without even modelling this in hornresp, I cant tell the SD18 with 5mm Xmax aint it dawg. This baby looks like it has fairly large chamber, which dictates something like PD1850/V18-1000, OR 18LW1400/RCFL18P300/PD186/18TBX100[. Just found the following post which should help model SL36 and identify suitable drivers "properly". WARNING:The below post and horn measurements are also for the JE36 (Junior), which is only 24" (62.2 cm) Deep; NOT the "Mighty" SL36. http://www.speakerplans.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1314&KW=vega&PN=3 Edited by levyte357 - 03 May 2007 at 3:52am |

well SD18 and C18 are the most available and reliable drivers that can be found here at home.....
I hope i could post some pictures of some crap type of speakers soon...
well they are marked 1000watt doubled magnet ones but when powered
with continues 800watt or so for some 4 hour or more , voice coils
deforms and burnt....... Edited by heinrich - 05 May 2007 at 3:38am |
